中心现有人员近50名，其中特聘教授1人，高级职称4人，中级职称7人。博士研究生学历7人，硕士学历7人，专业涉及实验动物及其支撑领域，包括实验动物、兽医、畜牧、细胞生物学、卫生毒理学、免疫、解剖学、营养学等。
设施建设：中心实验动物饲养和动物实验设施功能齐全，拥有SPF级实验动物屏障设施4500㎡，恒湿、恒温、净化10000级动物手术室150㎡，检验室150㎡，动物隔离和生物净化室100㎡，P2实验室100㎡，并拥有大动物饲养区800㎡。中心获得江苏省科学技术厅实验动物管理委员会颁发的SPF级大小鼠实验动物使用许可证（SYXK(苏)2014-0030,SYXK(苏)2017-0043,SYXK(苏)2016-0049,SYXK(苏)2016-0050）、小鼠实验动物生产许可证（SCXK(苏)2017-0006）和普通级豚鼠、兔、猴、猪、犬、猫实验动物使用许可证（SYXK(苏)2017-0042）。
中心全年为全校及周边地区提供健康合格的不同级别的实验动物，包括清洁级/SPF级SD大鼠、Wistar大鼠、KM小鼠、ICR小鼠，BALB/c小鼠，C57BL/6J小鼠，裸鼠及普通级豚鼠、新西兰兔、日本大耳兔，比格犬、小型猪等共20余种。
中心承担研究生、本科生的医学实验动物学的教学任务，培养本专业方向的硕士研究生，负责全市实验动物从业人员的上岗培训。为全校科研团队及周边地区提供动物实验设施及场地。
中心已建成苏州市动物实验研究重点实验室，江苏省苏州医疗器械临床前研究与评价技术服务中心，苏州市实验动物产业科技服务平台，常年来开展动物实验和动物手术，并提供相应的技术咨询和资料服务，已和国内外多个单位建立良好合作关系。近年来，在学校和医学部的支持下，实验动物中心对实验基础条件进行全新改造，基本设施得到明显改善，实验动物中心科研平台建设迈出了坚实的一步。为满足动物实验的需要，苏州大学正在建设唐仲英实验动物大楼，建筑面积约2万平方米，预计可容纳包括8大种属的高等实验动物，合计12万只动物存量。将会为我校的科研发展提供更有力的支持和保障。
Introduction of Laboratoryanimal center
The laboratoryanimal center of Soochow University, founded in 1987, now affiliated to themedical college of Soochow University, is an important public service platform forlife science research. It is a main support department and teaching base forthe affiliated hospitals of Soochow University, as well as FUNSUM College,sport College, the psychology department of education college, and etc.
The Laboratory animal center is an integratedservice agencies containing service, teaching and scientific research. It iscomposed of animal experiment research department, comparative medicineteaching department, animal production and management department andcomprehensive medical department.
There are over 50 stuff in the laboratoryanimal center, including 4 senior-grade professional titles and 7 medium-gradeprofessional titles, 7 doctoral degree as well as 7 master degree. The professionalfield relates to experimental animals, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry,hygienic toxicology, immune, cell biology, anatomy, nutrition, etc.
Animal facility: the animal experimentalfacilities owns 4500 ㎡ SPF-grade laboratory animal facility, 10000-grade cleanlinessoperating room 150 ㎡, detection room 150 ㎡, animal quarantineand cleaning room 100 ㎡, P2 laboratory 100 ㎡, and common-gradebig animal(pig, dog, monkey, cat, rabbit, guinea pig) area 800 ㎡. Thecertificated licenses authorized by Jiangsu science and Technology Department areas follows: SYXK (Su) 2014-0030, SYXK (Su) 2017-0043, SYXK (Su) 2016-0049, SYXK(Su) 2016-0050, SCXK (Sue) 2017-0006, SYXK (Su) 2017-0042.
The laboratoryanimal center has established suzhou animal experimental research keylaboratory, Jiangsu province medical instrument preclinical research andevaluation service center, Suzhou experimental animal industry science andtechnology service platform. In recent years, supported by Soochow University andthe medical college of Soochow University, the Cyrus tang experimental animalbuilding have been building, which containing about 20000 square meters,expected to stock approximately 120000 animals. It will accommodate the newneeds of life science research and provide stronger support for Soochow Universityeven surrounding research organizations.
